Use Your Health Insurance

(Scroll down to submit your insurance information for verification. We’ll get back to you ASAP!)

Many people are surprised to learn that they have acupuncture benefits on their health insurance policy. Very Well is happy to verify coverage and submit claims to any health insurance company that has in- or out-of-network coverage for our work. We are also proud to work with the Veterans Administration to treat those who have served our country.

We are currently in-network with participating plans from following health insurance companies:

  • BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD

  • AETNA

  • UNITED HEALTHCARE

  • CIGNA

  • UNITED STATES VETERANS ADMINISTRATION

We also accept payment from any other company that offers out-of-network acupuncture benefits on your plan.

Acupuncture benefits vary by provider and specific plan. There is often a copay or deductible to be met, or sometimes a plan will only cover specific diagnosis codes. If you provide us with your health insurance information at our initial contact, we will be able to report back exactly what is covered within 48 hours.

If your plan requires a preauthorization, we will get those taken care of before you come in. If a referral from your primary care physician is required, you will need to have submitted that to Very Well Acupuncture prior to your first appointment date.

Please note that although we do our best to collect from your provider, you are personally responsible for any fees your health insurance company does not pay, including copays, deductibles, non-covered services (such as Chinese herbs), and any claims that are unexpectedly rejected.

If your plan does not offer in- or out-of-network benefits for acupuncture, it's possible that you can still be reimbursed for your acupuncture treatment. We can provide you with a receipt that is coded in a way your insurance company may accept for partial or full reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to learn their policies about these reimbursements.

The other services at Very Well are not eligible for health insurance and must be paid at the time of service or via our memberships. For more on our pricing, click here.

Use the form below to submit your health insurance information for verification prior to your appointment. We may need 48 hours to confirm your coverage.

Happy older man with white hair, in a business suit, taking a selfie. Perhaps he has received acupuncture in Baltimore.
