*Legal and Testimonial Disclaimers; Contraindications for Services
Individual results will vary and testimonials are not claimed to represent typical results. All testimonials are the uncompensated words of actual patients, may not reflect the typical patient’s experience, and are not intended to represent or guarantee that anyone will achieve the same or similar results. Every person has unique level of commitment and different experiences, exercise habits, and eating habits; and every person applies the lifestyle recommendations in a different way. Thus, the experiences that we share from some people may not reflect everyone’s experience. However, these results are meant as a showcase of what many patients have achieved.
No photograph on this website is of an actual patient of Very Well. We have obtained the rights to use photographs of compensated models, who are not meant to be represented in any way as endorsing Very Well. (They are meant to be representative, however, of the actual diversity of Very Well patients.)
You should not begin any treatment at Very Well if you have medical condition that precludes it, or any coaching to change nutritional or exercise habits. The Licensed Acupuncturists at Very Well provide guidance and treatment within the legal scope of practice as regulated by the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture. Their advice, and that of other employees of Very Well, is not a substitute for medical advice from a physician, and we do not diagnose Western medical conditions. The technological services of Very Well are not represented to be Chinese Medicine and thus not offered under the licensure or purview of the Board of Acupuncture. Please consult a physician before beginning any exercise or diet program, or using any of our holistic services where you have questions about how they might interact with your particular conditions, medications, or lifestyle situations.
The specific risks and contraindications of the powerful treatments we offer at Very Well are as follows:
Acupuncture — Occasionally acupuncture may result in minor bruising or bleeding. In exceedingly rare cases, it may cause infection or other damage. Notify your practitioner in the case of pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, as there are a few acupuncture points that should not be stimulated in the first trimester. A few conditions are contraindicated with electroacupuncture (acupuncture needles stimulated with electricity), such as seizure disorders, blood clots, and implanted medical devices.
Red Light Therapy — Red light therapy should not be used if you are pregnant or overly sensitive to bright light. Eye protection is offered if desired, although generally not seen as necessary. Our bed is rated as having a weight limit of 330 lbs. and may present some difficulty for people with mobility issues. Please ask if you have any concerns about how your appointment will go if you have any such issues.
PEMF — Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy should not be used if you have an implanted medical device (such as a cochlear hearing device, glucose monitor, pacemaker), an implanted magnetic device (including those deemed “unsafe for MRI”), if you are pregnant, if you are actively bleeding or hemorrhaging outside of normal menstruation, if you have blood clots and have not been cleared by a physician, if you have an organ transplant, or if you have injuries or concerns that have not been evaluated by a licensed healthcare provider.
Salt Therapy + IR Sauna — Salt and infrared therapy are not recommended for people with severe conditions, viruses, or infections, including tuberculosis, fever, contagious conditions, severe heart disorders, the presence of cancer, advanced pregnancy, or acute state of respiratory attack.
Vibroacoustic Therapy – Vibroacoustic therapy is generally safe but you should consult your doctor if you have questions about its use with any particular condition. Our sound bed is low to the ground and narrow, and may present some difficulty for some people with mobility issues. Please ask if you have any concerns about how your appointment will go if you have any such issues.
